Jimmie Johnson knows that if you did not win races or first-class from top-five finishes, the appearance is that there is something wrong with the Hendrick Motorsports team.

But to hear Johnson tell it, the only problem is with the Cup winners four times in a row the same.

“We have always maintained that I had a good rhythm of walking the tightrope, and you step over it from time to time,” Johnson said Friday before heading to the Gillette Fusion in the channel ProGlide 500 Pocono]. “I have recently been stepping on the wrong side of this line and I need to return it and make sure that we finish where we should, and if we do not have a car that can win in the race, fine, we ‘ll just what we can get it.”

“I’ve got to respect all the drivers and teams and go out there and win that week in and week. Just something that happened in the past does not mean you are going to have that happen again.”

The 2010 Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon has gathered the strongest men's elite field's in the 13 year history of the event.

With four men who have run under 2:08, six who have run under 2:10 and four former Rock 'n' Roll series race champions, the competition will be brutal. The big attraction, the $25,000 prize purse for the winner.
Defending champ Khalid El Boumlili of Morocco will return to the June 6 race. El Boumlili holds an impressive 2:10:35 PR set in Boston in 2008, but given the strength of the field, it will be tough to repeat his win on Sunday.
His biggest competition may come from Kenyan Phillip Limo, who was second in the LA Marathon back in March, and holds a 2:06:45 PR set in Amsterdam in 2007.
South African Hendrick Ramaala will also be at Sunday's race. He has one of the most impressive resumes of the group, but at 38, some feel he is past his prime. Ramaala won the New York City Marathon in 2004 and set a PR of 2:06:55 in the 2006 London Marathon.
Also in the mix, 2:07:42 marathoner Kenei Kiprotich of Kenya, Tariku Jafur of Ethiopia, who has a PR of 2:08:10, former Rock 'n' Roll San Diego champ Simon Wangi of Kenya and former Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio champ Meshack Kirwa.
The old event record was 2:08:33, but the course has been completely revamped this year. It's definitely more scenic than past routes that had a lot of highway running. This time around runners will run through the San Diego Padres’ stadium and along the San Diego waterfront before finishing at Sea World.
The year 30,000 runners will compete between the full marathon and the inaugural half marathon. Both events are sold out.

Treyarch recently released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Call of Duty title -- Black Ops. The trailer showcased the great technical and graphical leap the developers have made from their previous COD title, World at War as well as giving glimpses of the exciting new gameplay that is in store forus.

The Trailer opens up with an explosion -- Treyarch wants to make sure it gets the message across straight away. The entire trailer exhibits some great shadow, particle and explosive effects. Also it’s confirmed that Treyarch is using a motion capture technology to capture accurate facial expressions such as the likes used in James Cameroon’s Avatar. A highly improved destructive environment is guaranteed as seen from chain guns rattling through the urban streets, Ships and houses going up in flames, helicopters crashing, RPGs, pyrotechnic shotgun shells, lethal crossbows and much more.

New Service from Google - Chrome Web Store shows apps future

Google has outlined plans of how it expects users of its yet to be released operating system to get the latest apps and games at its annual Google I/O conference in the US.

The Chrome Web Store, as it will be known, will allow users of the Chrome browser and Chrome OS to easily install shortcuts to fully fledged programmes and services in an attempt to make using software online easy and stress free and give them an edge over other browsers on the market.

Although Google has already said that it would be offering users a web based store to download apps for its Chrome browser and Chrome OS operating system at the official launch of the Chrome OS in November last year, Google's latest announcement is clearly hoping that teasing developers with information now will give them plenty of time to get apps developed in time for an expected November release.

"We believe it should be easier for users to discover web apps and for developers to reach a large audience," says Erik Kay, a Lead Software Engineer over at Google.

Florida News: Coast Guard says tarballs found on keys not from BP oil spill

The Coast Guard Marine Safety Laboratory in New London, Conn. analyzed a sampling of tar balls discovered on Florida Keys shoreline Tuesday and determined that none of the collected samples are from the Deepwater Horizon/BP oil spill.

A sampling of tar balls discovered on beaches at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, Fla., Smathers Beach in Key West, Big Pine Key, Fla., and Loggerhead Key in the Dry Tortugas National Park, Fla. were flown by a Coast Guard HU-25 Falcon jet based in Miami, Fla., to New London, Conn. Tuesday for testing and analysis.

The results of those tests conclusively show that the tar balls collected from Florida Keys beaches do not match the type of oil from the Deepwater Horizon/BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The source of the tar balls remains unknown at this time.

Capt. Pat DeQuattro, commanding officer of Sector Key West, authorized the use of the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund Tuesday to commence cleanups of any oil pollution on Florida Keys shoreline and established a Unified Command comprised of members from the Coast Guard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of the Interior, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Monroe County to manage the Florida Keys Tar Ball Incident response.

“The conclusion that these tar balls are not from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill incident in no way diminishes the need to continue to aggressively identify and clean up tar ball-contaminated areas in the Florida Keys,” DeQuattro said. ”We will continue to operate as a Unified Command and utilize funding through the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund until we have successfully identified any additional tar balls on the shoreline and completed cleanup efforts.”

Coast Guard pollution investigators from Sector Key West responded to a report of twenty tar balls found on the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West Monday. Coast Guard Sector Key West received notification from the Florida Park Service around 5:15 p.m. Monday of twenty tar balls ranging in size from approximately three to eight inches in diameter. Park rangers conducted a shoreline survey of Fort Zachary Taylor and the adjacent Navy beach at Truman Annex and recovered the tar balls at a rate of nearly three tar balls an hour throughout the day, with the heaviest concentration found at high tide, around 12:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Coast Guard Sector Key West received notification from the National Response Center at approximately 8 a.m. of tar balls on the beach in Big Pine Key, followed by a 9 a.m. report of tar balls on Loggerhead Key in the Dry Tortugas National Park. The report of tar balls on Smathers Beach came via telephone to watchstanders at Sector Key West at approximately 8:20 a.m.

The public is asked to report the sighting of any tar balls to the U.S. Coast Guard at 1 (800) 424-8802. Any oiled shorelines can be reported to 1 (866) 448-5816.

The public is reminded that tar balls are a hazardous material, which while not dangerous to most people can cause an allergic reaction and should only be retrieved by trained personnel. All beaches on the Florida Keys remain open.

Former Miss Russia - Again Held in US on Drug Charges

Miss Russia 1998 Anna Malova was arrested in New York for illegal possession of drugs, FoxNews.com reported Wednesday.

The 38-year-old beauty queen, a former Miss Universe semi-finalist, was apprehended by a special narcotics officer when she was leaving a pharmacy store. She was also charged with forgery and impersonating as a physician.

"The doctor believed Malova stole a prescription pad and wrote out phony prescriptions for painkillers," the report said, citing the former beauty queen's pharmacist.

Malova, who studied in Russia to be a doctor but is not licensed to practice in the United States, was arrested on similar charges three months ago.

Mystic River - (2003) - one fantastic film

Re-watching Mystic River was part of my ridiculous project of listing the top 100 films of the past decade. I had seen it a couple times before, but not for a few years. I knew it was a fantastic film. The question was, how fantastic? The answer: it might be perfect. I have decided that it is my favorite Clint Eastwood film (and there are a lot of good ones) and it deserves a spot near the very top of my decade list.

It’s a film about three boyhood friends who each take very separate roads into adulthood. The turning point for this division comes at the very beginning of the movie. Jimmy, Sean and Dave are playing street hockey when a child molestor impersonating a police officer pulls up and forces Dave into his car. Dave escapes after several days. When these boys become adults they speculate that this incident is what set their lives in motion, what set them apart from each other.

We then meet the three boys as men. Jimmy (Sean Penn) is an ex-con with a wife (Laura Linney) and two little girls, as well as a 19-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, Katie (Emmy Rossum). Sean (Kevin Bacon) is a police detective who gets strange, silent phone calls from his wife who has recently left him. Dave (Tim Robbins) is a handyman with a wife (Marcia Gay Harden) and a young son.

Then a second inciting event happens: Katie is murdered. One extraordinary thing about this film is that, even at this early point in the film, we are deeply involved in these characters’ lives. We have seen the love that Jimmy has for his daughter and we feel part of his pain. It would have been so easy to have filmed this in a detached CSI mystery/thriller fashion, but Eastwood and the actors convey such depth and pain that we are more concerned with the emotions of the characters than potential plot twists.

I find myself at a loss as to what the plot of Mystic River is actually about. We follow the three main characters in the aftermath of the murder. We see Jimmy’s grief, we see Sean hard at work trying to find Katie’s murderer, and we see Dave become more and more affected by what happened to him when he was a child. And a bunch of other stuff happens that I am not about to ruin for anyone who hasn’t seen the film. I think this is the sort of movie you discuss after you’ve seen it.

I can say, however, that the acting is superb. There is not a false step among the entire cast. With Mystic River, Eastwood shows his uncanny ability to work with actors. Not that he didn’t have plenty of talent to work with from the beginning. Sean Penn is painfully good as a grieving father out for revenge. This may be his best role ever. Same for Robbins. And Bacon, for that matter. I think he gets overlooked in discussions of the acting in this movie.

If you have not seen this film, stop whatever you are doing and go see it. Even if you’re delivering a baby.

First 4G Smartphone - HTC EVO 4G Set to Launch June 4th

Sprint has announced its first 4G smartphone, the EVO 4G, will go on sale on June 4th. The price will be $199 after the typically annoying $100 mail-in-rebate. Reportedly, just as with some recent hot phones, Best Buy will apply the rebate upon checkout, and save you effort.

The EVO 4G is an Android phone. It will use the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU seen on many of the recent Android phones, and be a WiMAX phone. WiMax coverage is limited, and you have to pay $10 extra for it. The advantage is it also gets you truely unlimited data rather than the 5GB allocated to 3G plans.

For those just wanting 3G, the EVO 4G will require an Everything Data Plan, which starts at $69.99 per month. Other specs on the phone include a forward- facing 1.3 Megapixel camera for video-conferencing, an 8MP camera for shooting photos and videos and a 4.3-inch touch-screen.

You can also share your WiMAX connection if you pay another $30. That mobile hotspot capability will allow up to eight other devices to connect via Wi-Fi.

All the perks add up to quite a bit. One good thing about the WiMax technology is that unlike the CDMA technology standard, it allows simultaneous voice and data. However, Sprint only has 4G in 32 markets, but the carrier has announced plans to expand up to 18 additional markets by the end of 2010.

Five major U.S. airlines committed to keep carry-on bags free building momentum for a service that has always been free for airline travelers.

Senator Charles Schumer, a Democrat from New York said he spoke with five major U.S. airlines and they committed and promised not to charge for carry-on bags. Airlines have been Senator Schumer's focus as he introduced a bill to put breaks on airline fees.

Currently airlines pay 7.5 cents tax on every dollar they charge for fares. There are no taxes on some other types of fees, such as charging for carry-on bags.

Two weeks ago Spirit Airlines announced it will charge 45 dollars for carry-on bags. Spirit airlines is a low cost airline that has even advertised tickets as low as one cent. Responding to consumer criticism Spirit Airlines says "consumers are free to make their own choices." However, what really happens is this. Airlines cut the price of the fare and lower their taxes. Then they charge for things like carry-on bags and there is no tax on those charges.

A clever strategy isn't it? This is what Senator Schumer wants to fight and put an end to these types of loopholes. Schumer got commitment not to charge for carry-on bags from the following five airlines.

Fans Force Lady Gaga To Tour South Florida

Lady Gaga was persuaded by fans in South Florida to book not one, but two concert dates. After announcing her tour dates for the Monster Ball Tour, no venues in South Florida were booked. A Facebook page with over 25,000 people changed Lady Gada's concert plans.

After the success of the Facebook page, Lady Gaga added the 2 Southern Florida dates to her tour, but they aren't until next year.

The BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise is booked for April 12, 2011 and the American Airlines Arena is booked for April 13, 2011. Most artists generally do one or the other, but Gaga must feel the positive pressure to allow everyone in South Florida to see the concert.

Lady Gaga's success is really unprecedented and definitely attributed to her drive for success and admittedly, her drive for fame.

Lady Gaga concerts are already scheduled throughout the next year however, making the the 2 new added dates not entirely strange. She probably couldn't fit them into her previously scheduled tour.

Miami Herald reports that neither of Lady Gaga's albums have reached number 1 but they have sold consistently and steadily.

Concert tickets for the show will go on sale Monday, May 17 on Livenation.

Merkel Says Euro Crisis an Existential Test

As Euro vs. Dollar exchange rate sharply dropped this morning reaching to 1.25964 Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke and said that the crisis of the Euro is "an existential test and must be managed."

"The crisis of the future of the euro is not a crisis like any other, this is the toughest test passed by Europe since 1990 except for 35 years," said Chancellor German. Merkel called Thursday, May 13 to defend the euro and stressed that the difficulties of the single currency was a test for the future of the European Union.

"The crisis of the future of the euro is not a crisis like any other, this is the toughest test passed by Europe since 1990," said Angela Merkel in a speech broadcast by the WDR. "This test is existential, it must be managed successfully," she said in a ceremony in honor of the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who won the Charlemagne Prize for his work for European unity.

This morning Euro fell further against the U.S. Dollar settling just below 1.26 dollars vs one Euro. On Monday one Deutsche Bank analyst Thomas Mayer said he thinks Euro and Dollar may even reach parity at some point. However, Mayer said he thinks Euro may find some stabilization point at 1.20 dollars against Euro.

When Euro was introduced first, the party vs U.S. dollar was set at 1.16. Then it fell sharply against the dollar to the level of 0.86 cents per one Euro.

On Monday Euro jumped up against the Dollar again. This happened after the EU leaders introduced the $970 billion aid plan. However, once the investors realized that there is no information about the details of implementations doubts started to take over the markets and since then Euro has fallen to below 1.26 dollars vs one Euro.
